Ben Shook began playing rock and blues at age 13 where he would learn the licks of Steve Vai and Carlos Santana, giving him ahint of spice to his solos. An academic aficionado, Ben began to study at Collin College where he won awards in music theory, piano, and overall academic performance before moving onto the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) to earn his bachelors in jazz studies. While at UTA, Ben further developed his sound by being influenced by the smooth sounds of the great Wes Montgomery. Today, ben plays lead guitar in the Brendyn Kyle Band where he adds a spicy yet smooth flavor to the Band’s sound.
